Below, you can find the most popular tours we offer, which can be taken privately or as part of a regularly scheduled tour. Other tours may be available upon request. Please contact Caravelle Tours for further information.

    Palermo and Monreale

The tour starts from Palermo and reaches Monreale to visit its Cathedral.  Admire its splendid 12th century mosaics that represent scenes from the Old and New Testaments all in golden mosaics, and the cloister of the Benedictines monastery with Moorish architecture.

Return to Palermo for a visit of the Capital of Sicily, one of the richest towns in the island for history and art: the Cathedral, the “Palatina” Chapel, and also enjoy a panoramic tour of the town (the “Quattro Canti”, the Opera House, the Pretoria Square).

    Segesta, Erice and Trapani

Departing from Palerno, visit Segesta and its unfinished Doric temple, from the late 5th century BC, which keeps in its stones the weight of a long history, surrounded by a unique landscape.

Continue to Erice, placed on the top of a hill overlooking the city of Trapani and the Egadi Islands. The Elymians settled the medieval town of Erice, which was an important religious site associated with the goddess Venus. Wander through its ancient streets and visit some of the famous homemade pastry shops—world-famous for marzipan candies and other delicacies like almond and pistachio pastries: walk through its tiny and characteristic streets.

Finally, reach Trapani and travel through the Saltpans to see the historic salt flats works, where the ancient tradition of harvesting salt from the sea is still practiced. Return to Palermo.

    Mount Etna and Taormina

Travel from Catania to Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Across fascinating landscape, we will reach a height of 2000 metres, where we will enjoy a fantastic panorama of the Ionic Sea.

Continue to Taormina called “the pearl of the Ionic Sea”, founded in 400 BC and beautifully located overlooking the sea and the peak of Mount Etna. Enjoy time at leisure to shop for handmade lace, coral jewels, ceramics, home-made sweets and preserves down “Corso Umberto” or simply walk through the tiny streets. Return to Catania.
